Well, the winds really slowed down around 3pm & the sun came out. It is going to be cooler then usual, thankfully, for the next few days. I’m going to enjoy that. =)

Here is the pictures from Buffalo & the Falls. I tried to get some pictures of the fall colors, but didn’t really get the full beauty of it. But at least I got to see them first hand.

It is now clear out as the sun goes down and 67degrees. It is the beautiful fall weather that I love, allowing us to turn off the air condition and open the windows. So other then some minor things, all is right in my little corner of the world. =)

Well……….we just had a few power bumps and seemed to have lost internet connection…..at least it is….it is on and off. Our pool looks to have a bunch of tree debris on the bottom of it. We pulled the truck into the garage to protect it, but our luck has other ideas. The attic cover (a piece of dry wall) fell on to my truck and busted. It doesn’t look that there was any damage just the irony of it.

The eye is now in the Atlantic, we have about 1-2hr left of it. A friend of ours lives in the Ft. Lauderdale area and said it was the worst she has seen. She has her generator going.

We had a tornado touch down across town. Found out it was in my boss’ and my other manager’s complex that it hit. They are all right, but it jarred the window seals so now they are leaking. =(

I should be finding something to do more productive….laundry, cleaning, resizing pics…..something………but I just don’t quite feel like it.

We were going to get some more stuff so we could paint the master bath & put a new toilet in there, but Wilma had other ideas.

This sucks!

We have Wilma heading our way. We are on the east coast south of Cape Carnveral & Wilma will hit the south west coast and will head back out to the Alantic just south of us. So we aren’t getting the direct hit but the county south of us is under tornado watch and had a few warnings & sightings. Hurricane bands are good for brewing those hated tornados.

Wilma is scheduled to hit the west coast (about Naples) about 7-8am est & she’ll take about 5hrs to get across the state.

Luckly I have tomorrow off so I don’t have to work about it unless they call me. We were open through Jeane & Frances so I expect us to be open though tomorrow as long as we have power.

But on the other hand, unfortunately I have tomorrow off…………lol So our plans for errands is out, I can play catch up here at home while we are still connected.

I haven’t stressed this as much as last year. It helps that I’m working, that has keep my mind off of it, thankfully. But that changes with not working tomorrow……gggrrr

I just hope it goes through quickly so we can get it over with & so I can enjoy the rest of my day off.

Wow, after a ton of posts, I just dropped off the face of the earth, didn’t I? =)

I just got busy as heck with work. Today was my day off………yeah right…..lol Our boss stopped by & I had to go in. No big deal, got some things taken care of….but it was on less then 24hrs notice. We weren’t expecting him until Thursday, but the company scheduled a training seminar that I need to go to and so does he. So that is how it happened.

When I finally got home, Torn & I headed to the store, we needed both groceries and paint, cuz that is what our plans were for today & tomorrow. We did get a hallway and one room painted. It is a color called desert echo. It is a sandy type of orange. I’m not a big orange fan, but we really wanted to try something different and that was the color that caught my eye. I think, partly, cuz it seems to fit with being in Florida. We are going to do the living room in a light yellow, again not a big fan, but first we need to paint the ceiling and that will be a project in of itself.

I don’t know if we really want to do the master bed or the office (maybe just one or two of the walls). I do want to do the spare bath, cuz they have a horrible color thing going on and the kitchen.

We’ve been keeping an eye on Rita, luckily we didn’t get the hit of the Keys, but we’ve been getting the outer bands. I’m really hoping that the forecasters aren’t correct about it becoming a category 4, but they probably are correct. I really hope that folks are learning from the New Orleans disaster and don’t repeat it.

I’m exhausted……time for bed.

It has been raining here on and off due to Ophelia off of the coast. They believe that she will become a hurricane in the next few days. =( Lets hope that she doesn’t land.

I actually had a productive day at work. Sometimes I feel as if I’m so busy running around and putting out small fires that I don’t get anything accomplish. On the days that I get something done, I feel good. =)

I have a few things to do for work here tonight. I hope I have the thought process to get it done……lol

I did get all the receipts organized, now I need to do the long process of entering them into quickbooks. I’m hoping to be able to get them done this weekend. Then I won’t be stressing it all by the end of the year to get it done.

I’ve been so busy since I got back from Indiana, that I never finished up about that weekend. There isn’t much to tell except that I really enjoyed being able to see and visit everyone. Mom did surprise me. She gave me a few family things that I didn’t expect. One of them being a picture of my dad taken in ‘Nam. It is a simple black and white picture, but what I really like about it is what it tells me about him. He looks so young, but his eyes shows him getting older (for lack of a better term) with what he has seen & experience there. Just gives me a sense of my dad’s history.

Mom also gave me a costume jewelry penant. She has had it for along as I could remember, but I never knew the story behind it. It was made my great-aunt and my great-uncle painted a peacock on it. So I thought that was really cool.

Now I need to get off my ass & do the litter boxes……….lol

It was my first day off in week. I was going to do some work for work at home, but decided that it could wait until tomorrow night.

I did finally get to looking for doctors and dentist that works with my insurance. I was so not looking forward to that. I would look it up and then paste the info to Word so I would be able to print it out and make my notes as I call around. Well, dang word would never print it…..would say “that word is preparing the background for print”….It was starting to piss me off.

I finally just started calling and tried to take notes. My handwritting sucks so I was hoping I wouldn’t screw it up. Luckily I was able to get a dentist appt. next week and one for a doctor (annual physical) by the end of the month. I really didn’t think I was going to be able to get into the doctor until next month, so I was pleased about that.

Dang, pc has been slow as crap. =( I can’t even surf my news sites without it taking forever.

I got 3 weeks worth of emails done from my site, still haven’t touched the ones from family. That will be my next project.

I got laundry caught up, I really need to do the litters but I’m so burnt out over stressing on getting things done at work that I really don’t want to do crap…….lol

We got moved to new servers & looks like most of the bugs are taking care of. If there is any problem email me so I can see about having that taken care of.

We got Torn a new grill. Our other one we have had for about 5-6 years, I had gotten it for him as an anniversary present, was really starting to die. The new one is nice. =) He say’s I’m not allowed to touch it since I don’t cook………lol

He has started to make a bunch of nice for us, since we are heading into the height of hurricane season. He put one of 5 gal. jugs of water in our deep freezer & opened it so it won’t crack when it froze up. Blocks of ice will come in every handy if we lose power. By this time last year we were in the middle of Francis & after seeing what happened in New Orleans……we just want to make sure that we are prepared. We just need to get a battery operated latern. The oil lamp & candles gives off way too much heat.

I just wanted to stop in and say hi. I need to start on the receipts (3-4 months worth) so I can feel as if I’m making head way. I have to work early tomorrow, so I’ll be in bed early tonight. =)

I’m sorry for not posting as much. We had a small emergency at work, so I’ve ended up working 6 days this week. I spent my half day off working on work schedules, cleaning and doing my FFL draft……where ESPN servers suck. =( You would think with as much $$ they make that they would have something that wouldn’t crash with heavy use.

I did get Wednesday off, but we spent most of our day with friends. Which is something we really needed to do. So any thing I planned on doing didn’t happen……….lol

I have to be at work by 0630hrs so I’m heading to bed.

But I would like to state that I know everyone has seen the news & the destruction of Katrina……of course, our government which has been warned about something like happening, has been slow to respond & 1000s are feared dead and there are bodies on the streets. Please do your part and donate……whether through your church, Red Cross, Salvation Army……or private organizations……just donate.

It luckily missed us, but it looks like New Orleans is about to get hit. I’m just hoping that New Orleans don’t lose as many lives as they think they might.

We spent the 1st part of the day cleaning. Torn worked on the pool & I attacked the spare bath & kitchen (we had a few more boxes to unpack for it).

It feels good to be making progress on our stuff & the place in general. We need to get shelves for the office closet so we can get that done up. Right now all our rubbermaid stuff is stacked up on the floor.

I still haven’t started packing. Just hard to pack the stuff that you are wearing………lol

I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone. I miss them, just hope I have time to see everyone. My flight leaves @ 11am Thursday & I’m back Monday abour 5:30pm. With what happened in London, I expect the security to take even longer.

We spent a few hours in the pool & I forgot to put some sort of sunscreen on, so now I’m red……at least on the front side……lol Good thing I got some color now, with Dennis hitting the west side of Florida it is going to be raining here the next few days. =(

I just hope everyone gets through Dennis okay…….keep everyone in your thoughts.

Been a long day at work. We had our big bosses stop in & we did really good. So I’m very happy that our work has paid off.

Torn got the spare bath all taken care of, now I can get it cleaned up tomorrow. Tomorrow is my last day off before I head back to Indiana for the wedding so I have to get a lot done around here and start on some of my packing. But right now I’m going to chill out, I’ve earned it.
