Today was catch up.  I had some accounting that I need to get done, both business and personal wise.

But spent a good portion of my day taking down the tree.  I love my tree with all the lights and glittery ornaments, but as soon as my birthday is over I need to put it away.  It took me a little bit longer then usual, I was reorganizing my packing of stuff and added a new container to the mix.  So I now have 4 storage containers of xmas stuff, not including the tree.  =)

I watched my new Bon Jovi dvd, of course they were great. =)

Looks as if we need a toaster, one side of it is only toasting the outer parts of the bread…..not good.

I did go through our fire file box.  I had a ton of old insurance policy statements that need to be deposed of.  I added the stuff to the pile of things that I cleaned out from our storage files that are going to be shredded.  It is going to take forever to shred, but needs to be done.

I also got most of my messages caught up. But I’m going to finish them off tomorrow.  I like having a clean email inbox.  =)

I’m going to put up our load of laundry from yesterday and head on to bed.  I have a ton of stuff to do tomorrow and I need my sleep for that.  =)

Yes, it is my Birthday……..I’m officially 34, but don’t tell anyone……..LOL

Torn got me a gift certificate for a spa day……..I love those.  =)

Already got the call from my dad last night since according to his time zone it was already my birthday.  =)

The 1st couple of years after I moved out, my folks would call me at 2:30am est because that is time I was born in that timezone, I was actually born at 8:30am German time…………that is after 2 trips to the hospital (the moron doctor told my mom that it was false labor the 1st time and I was already over a month late).  Of course it was the end of the year and my parents were completely broke (big long story of my dad’s army sgt screwing up his pay) so after my mom was in the hospital the 2nd time, dad ran out of gas trying to get there…………the story of my birth………lol

 Here are some more statistics - the last time we had snow on Christmas Eve was back in 1998 and the snowflakes we saw this year on Christmas Day is only the sixth time since 1940 that it has happened.  In fact, the chance of a white Christmas for downtown Portland is just 1 percent.

So for our 1st Christmas here we were lucky enough to get snow!  I’ll take that as a good sign………..because when we moved to Florida, we got hit with 4 hurricanes in 2 months…….with 2 of them hitting us directly within 3 weeks…….not a good sign.  =)

We actually got snow on Christmas Day!!!  I know it isn’t going to last, but it was perfect timing!

We were watching the Simpson’s Movie that I got Torn and he looked back out of kitchen windows and said “Holy shit” a couple of times. I thought he was just screwing with me……..he does that a bit………lol  So I pointly didn’t look back.  When I decided to fall for it, I saw that he wasn’t pulling my leg…………it was SNOWING!!!!

Now, I know those in the midwest are probably tired of it.  But we get it mostly in rain form, while about 30-40 miles east they get the snow………..I mean a LOT of snow.  So this was a neat treat.  =)

We did our presents and we did good.  =)  I got Torn a Purdue & Colts sweatshirts, a Sanders Colts jersey, a money clip and a bunch of movies…..V for Vendetta & Casino on HD , Simpson’s Movie, Ocean 13, In Harm’s Way, Dogma & The Big Lebowski (which was funny because it was on last night and he was saying he had never seen the immediate beginning……..boy that was tough not to say anything……….grin)

He got me the Blue Man Group audio CD & DVD, Bon Jovi Lost Highway DVD, CDs Tracy Chapman, Amy Winehouse : Frank, Alanis Morissett : Jagged Little Pill, he got me the Drew Brees Authentic Jersey I always wanted and some really cool snow boots!  I really needed those, my other ones are from 88/89 when we left Alaska.

I know, I look dorky, but I just got up a few minutes before.  =)

Alexis even got in on it………….lol

Torn’s folks sent us some wild rice, peanut brittle, knitted slippers and some knitted dish clothes.  That was really cool.  I love how colorful the dish clothes are.

Time for a shower and on to watching more movies.

I’m ready of nap, I haven’t done much but it sounds good.

Alright, where to start………yesterday Torn had to head into Portland and I needed to get my nails done.  So I found a nail place on the only street I know……lol  Of course, when I got there she couldn’t do my nails until much later.  I asked if there was another nail salon around there, said I was sorry for being rude about it, but they needed to be done.  The lady that was having a pedicure directed me to one not too far from there.  Thankfully it was simple to get to.  They did a pretty good job, which is good to hear with I needed my nails done while in the area.

I have been working on a project the last few days that I wanted to get topped off. End of the year receipts needed to be finished on entering it in my quickbooks.  I got all those done, just need what ever we do within the next 6 days.
Every few years I redo my quickbooks set up, trying to utilize it and make it better organized.  With doing the accounts for RMI, it has given me better ideas for our set up.  I printed out my chart of accounts and started with setting up another company with better organization for our personal business.

I want to be able to use the check registry in the program, because it drives me nuts when I can’t get our bank account lined up with my registry.  Somehow our personal account, after a few years, always end up off by $50 area.  It is normally in our favor, so no big deal, but I HATE being off.  Of course, every few years I open us another account, let the other one sit for a month or so to make sure everything clears then I clear it out.  Sometimes it is easier to start fresh.  I plan on doing that after we move farther into the city next year, why change the address on the checks after getting them?  Besides since we are planning on staying in this area for the foreseeable future, so having that account based here would make our lives easier then explaining that it was opened online in Indiana so BOA placed it in Virginia…….a real pain.

Now I’m trying to motivate myself and to start moving the 2007 files over to storage container and set up the files for 2008.  I also need to do that for RMI.  I’m using plastic containers because after living in Fl. I didn’t want to worry about bugs, molds, and water getting to the files.  But I’m wondering if I could get away with the file boxes………..I don’t know. I need to see what I have in the garage……more then likely stick with the plastic storage containers, because I’d rather be safe then sorry.

I have one work that I need to do, nothing much……I can probably knock the immediate work out within an hour.  Just have no motivation for it.

Today, did the mundane Sunday job of cleaning the litters and gathering trash. I also went to the store since we were out of eggs and when I went make some pancakes for us the other day, I was disappointed.   When I went to the store, I wore my head band that has mistletoe hanging in front. I got some smiles and laughs.  That is one thing that I miss working outside of the house during the holidays………getting people to smile and laugh.  I like making people happy at xmas time, because smiles are contiguous and can be passed on, well to most people………..lol

Our tree looks really sparkly with presents under it.  =) I hate the rush, rush of the holidays, but I do love giving presents.  Don’t get me wrong, I love to receive them, but I really, really enjoy people’s reactions when they open their own gifts, making them feel special.  I think that is why I prefer birthday shopping because I can give gifts without the rush, rush of the holidays.

It has been raining here, of course with it raining here then Mt Hood is getting a bunch of snow.  Been hearing that the mountain passes are getting horrible.  I need it to stop raining one night so I can walk the neighborhood and get some pictures of xmas lights.

The news is full of the midwest getting hit with the weather, so I called my mom to see how they are doing.  I guess the 7-9 inches of  snow that they got last week is gone and it is now very cold and very, very windy…….yuck  I would rather have the snow.  =)

Torn’s folks live in Minn., so they have been getting hit with the snow.  That is normal for that state, while Indiana always does things strangely.

When I got back on the 15th…………..finally, 6hrs late.  I was going to get some online work done, but there was no way with the way my brain was not working.  Even though I just wanted to sleep, I still wanted to get things done.  So I got all my stuff unpacked, put away the laundry from Torn (he washes, doesn’t put away) and got myself organized.  Then chilled out a little bit.

So the 16th, it was time to get my online accounting done.  Started at 0730 and worked until about 2200 that evening.  But I got it done.  =)

On Monday, Torn went into town for the day.  I spent all day just getting everything caught up, including our check books.  By the end my brain was fried.

Then I spent the 18th to the 19th running around trying to get things done.  But in the evening, we made a point to chill out in the front of the tv and take time for ourselves, instead of going back online and getting lost again in work.

Today was trying to get things done today.  I did get some things done, but I started off very unorganized so it was no where near the efficiency that I wanted and needed to get what I wanted done.  =(  But I have it set up for my next attack.

I have been offered more responsibilities with my online accounting starting next year.  I’m excited but nervous.  It is accounting unlike anything I’ve done before, but learning new things is very cool and I’ve been thinking about expanding.

I did take a small stress break from things for a few hours Tuesday…….grin  In November, Torn found me a few “boyfriends”.  So one is becoming a regular (no, you can’t watch, this is pure swinging, he doesn’t want to be on camera).  He got a hold of me Monday evening and we made plans for him to come over Tues.  Damn, I love sucking his cock…….so, so tasty.

The best describtion of him is the one that Torn wrote in his 2007 in Review post :

I’m here on the flight to Seattle.  Very pleased to be heading there then LA.  =)  Been dozing on and off during the flights.  I’m hoping that I’ve done enough dozing that I don’t feel totally drained when I get home.   I would like to be able to visit with my husband and cats and maybe get some work done.  Putting away my clothes will have to wait until Monday.  I have way too much to do.

My flight from Seattle to Portland will take more time to board and deboard then the flight…..lol  It is suppose to be only about 50 minutes.  It is on a different airline, a small one, part of Alaska Airlines called Hudson Air…..I faintly remember the name, luckily I have about 90 minutes just in case the gate is a long distance.

My lips have been having issues with staying moist since the beginning of Dec. and flying makes it worst.  I have no idea why, been having to use lots of blist stick.  I may have to find something different. …strange

Last night I had to do another errand.  Which kind of annoyed me since I didn’t want to have to do that on my last day.  But it couldn’t be avoided.  So I took the kids and was able to spend some quality aunt time with them.  Since they didn’t have school the next day they were able to stay up a little later for that.  Otherwise my time has been with helping them with their homework.

On the way back from the errand we drove through a local park to see the xmas lights.  They really enjoyed that, so that was neat.

Dad was able to get one of the other pcs online by hardware yesterday and got ton updates from windows installed.  So that was cool.  The computers are older and would need to have wireless cards put in to use the network.  With all the games and things the kids on them, I told him I think it would be more of an issue then it is worth unless he reformatted them and started over.  So dad is going to hardwire them, when they finally get new computers they will have the wireless in them and wouldn’t have the issue with jumping on the network I got started.  So that is cool.

It was nice to visit with my family.  Mom was in her baking moods, got to have fresh apple pie, banana bread, regular bread, she also made some of her potato & egg salad, even gave me some before adding the onion……..mmmm  It was great. I got to have Chinese last night.  I don’t get the opportunity to have that very often, but other than the kids, my family loves it.  =)

Like I said in my last post, I got all of my family xmas presents done and even got most of Torn’s.  Just have 2 more things that I want to get, so I need to order them online.  I’m very pleased by that.  =)

**I’m currently in Seattle.  I didn’t realize until we started to arrive that I was hungry.  Thankfully NWA actually gave me a $10 certificate to use for food in the airports, so I’m putting it to use………..grin

It feels good to be back in the same timezone as Torn and so close to finish line.

It is hard to believe that xmas is right around the corner………icks  I only have about 11-12 days to enjoy my tree.

Well, I’m finally here in Minn……..totally, missed my connection.   It won’t bother me if it wasn’t for the fact that we left Indy due to “staffing issues” and not the weather.  I expected weather issues, that is a risk that you take when you fly, especially during the winter.  But the “staffing issues” reason really annoyed me.  They really need to get more pilots hired.  I arrived over 2 hrs early for my flight and it already had a 30min delay.  By the time we finally got staffed, they had to de-ice the plane……doh….the snow was moving in.

They did have some of themselves together by having everyone who missed their flight new itinerary and boarding passes ready.  So we moved through rather quickly, but I then I had find another agent, because they had me going through LA and not getting in until 5:30 Portland, when I was suppose to be there by 11:08am…..I did not want to go through LA……….yuck!

I explained myself to the agent….my flight was 2 hrs late and they have coming in over 6hrs later…..and the LA factor.  Well, the next direct flight to Portland was overbooked by 10, so that was out…..and other one didn’t get in until after 7pm, I didn’t want that even with a 1st class upgrade.  But she did find me one to Seattle and then to Portland and I got about 2hrs back.  I so rather deal with Seattle.  So that was cool and so much better.
I guess my luggage is scheduled to take the next direct Portland flight, so it should be waiting for me.  I’ll have to talk to someone to get it since it will be removed from the luggage claim after awhile, that will be different.

Over all, I’ve been lucky when traveling until today….the only other delay I’ve ever had was due to weather….so no big deal…..I just really hated the reason for this delay….
Looks like I got some sort of voucher for my trouble………Either way I should get back home sometime tonight.

I’m here at a bar in the Indy airport, had a quick breakfast to to justified me sitting here using their plug for my laptop…..lol

Got through checkin and security, get to my gate and find that there is now a half hour delay and moving of the gates.  So when I get to Minn, it will be very tight on time to get to my connection.  That is annoying, but it can be done.

I don’t browser Indiana news very often, so I didn’t see it, but found out that starting sometime in 2008 the new airport will open.  According to the TSA guy, I’ll have to get on to I-70 from 465 instead of just right off of 465.  They need a new airport here, but I know this one so well, that when I get off the plane I could get to luggage pick up with my eyes closed………..lol

No snow here yet, they don’t expect it to hit until later this morning after my flight has left.

I was thinking of getting somethings done, but way too out of it to think.  So I’m going to get my gate and nap.  =)
