Just chilling out here at the Hilton, finally have a moment for a quick post.

If you saw Torn’s post you would see that today is our 10th Wedding Anniversary. =) He got me a beautiful white gold blue topaz and earring set. It was what I wanted, the earrings was a surprise. It was the 1st time I every asked for jewelry, felt a little guilty about it, since he has gotten me beautiful stuff through the years without asking. But I’ve always wanted a blue topaz. =)

I got him his Payton Manning authentic jersey. It looks good.

It was a productive day off, even though I got up late….10ish. Which is late.

I’ve been giving myself time to chill out and read at night, trying to get back into the little things in life that I enjoy and miss. The side effect of the night reading, is later nights. But it has been helping me to relax and sleep. I’m currently re-reading my HP (yes, I’m a fanatic about reading those), to get my mind ready for the new & last book. Plus with the movie coming out, I like to re-read the book so I can fill in everything that they can’t fit into the movie. I’m on the book 6, about done with that. Then I’m debating on what I should read next. I’m behind on reading my Ms. & Bitch magazines, but then I have a ton of political books…..we will see.

I got the house detailed vacuumed, mopped, and the throw carpets washed, also changed the bed sheets and did some laundry. Work wise, I got things caught up with the online store, getting things settled with suppliers and clients, balancing the books. At least I can see my desk again……that is so annoying, stresses me out when it is a mess.

I did get time to balance my own checkbooks….I think they are done. =) But unfortunately, I didn’t get to our receipts. =( I’m not pleased by that at all. They are starting to pile up………ggrrrr

I still need to get to all my private messages, LJ comments and emails…..been so busy with rude..

I have tomorrow off, but there is no way to get those done. We’ve booked a room on the beach and was planning on doing a few shoots. Torn is working on getting us folks to play with. I still need to pack for it…….I’ll try to remember to take the cam.

I did workout some today. Went to use our elliptical and after 5 minutes, but one foot was hurting bad. I’m so pissed by that, because I was doing good, I had my music in that is always great for working out to. So I went to the living room, put my yoga mat down, did some stretches and leg lifts. By this time, I had worked up hell of a sweat, but was I able to go and enjoy our pool……..nope! =( The pool guy comes on Wednesdays and, of course, he is always late……..so I don’t get to enjoy it. It kind of pisses me off.

I’m hoping that when I step down that I’m able to have a set schedule. I’m asking for 4 days only (my 3 days off together) about 9hrs, since I’ll be an hourly again….icks…..I’m so not use to clocking in and out, did it only for 4 months about 3 yrs ago and that was the 1st time since 1996.

I have to get up at a decent time tomorrow, so I’m going to close.

I hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend.  I’ve been working. Today went well at work today.  That was nice. =)

Just don’t forget the real reason behind the holiday as you go out and visit with friends and family.   Even if you don’t agree with war, don’t ever forget that this country is where it is today through sacrifice and the hard work for our military.  Freedom is paid with the blood of those willing to stand up for it.

‘Little House’ still resonates after 75 years

**Kind of a great reminder of the hardworking spirit that helped to make this country.  The question is, why doesn’t it seem like we don’t have it anymore?

Either way, I loved reading this series of books.  Hell, I’m 33 and still like to stop and read them.

Just wanted to let everyone that I’m still around.

Been working the last 2 days.  My next days off is Wed & Thursday.  I can’t wait for it.  We have the hilton on the beach booked for our 10th Anniversary and having lunch at an Irish pub.

Well, I need to put our laundry away so I can get to bed.

It has been a busy day, online wise.  I stayed up much later then I have in a while, but did better on getting up then I thought I would.  I usually take half of a tab of night time tynel allergy meds but I’m trying not to, because it is so hard to wake up in the morning.  It makes me feel so out of it.

Well, when I got up this morning I had to deal with the online store issues.  Nothing major, just time consuming and a bunch of little stuff that piles up and messes with you when trying to organize.

What was the most frustating part was waiting on everyone else to get things taken care of……very annoying.

In the late afternoon, I was just losing it.  So I went outside, did a little reading and just chilled for a bit.  Now I’m back to waiting on everyone…..yuck. But at least I have LOST to watch.  =)

Current Mood: Beautiful Day

I took it easy today, even though I really shouldn’t have.  I got some work done out on the patio while trying to get some sun.  I even did a lap or two in the pool……it was still chilly feeling, but good.

I’m feeling guilty, I know I should’ve done more today, but I’m usually going, going, going around my day job that I just didn’t want to do that much today……..that is sad.  All I know that I’m going to be freaking out about packing (more like the lack of packing) soon……

I did stop at the store today.  I felt like a BLT and didn’t have the LT…..I also picked my some training sports bras for my niece.  My mom & sister got her some, but she wanted her aunt to get her some white ones to wear under her dresses.  It was strange looking at those little training bras, why the hell didn’t they have all those colors when I needed them.  I just had the boring white one that every girl had.  So her aunt, who lives in FL, is shipping training bras to her niece in Indiana……..the things you do for the ones you love, even the silly things.

Well, I need to pack up a few things to ship up to my folks.

Today started out very early.  I worked late last night and then had to go in for a staff meeting at 7am.  So I was half died…icks  When it was over, I came home and went back to bed.  I don’t think I really sleep, I felt totally out of it when I got up, but it was better then it would’ve been.

When I was finally able to motivate my ass, I got laundry started (I still need to put it away), started to straighten up my mess about my desk, cleaned up my other room and balanced out our check books.   So got some work done…..now I really need to focus on things for the store.

We watched the Preakness….damn, what a race!  By a nose!!!

It was a nice day, in that I got some work done, but still got to chill out some.  But I really need to get myself to work.

This is the best my head as felt in days…..sure didn’t feel that good this morning.  I’ve been so congested due to the fires messing with my sinuses.  Yesterday I felt like such crap.  By the end of the night I was either freezing or hot as hell.  When I went to bed I could not warm up, I was so chilled for no reason.  Torn came to bed about 2 hrs later and I had soaked my shirt with sweat.  The only thing I could think of is that I had a small fever that I broke.  I have been miserable.

Torn has been just as bad, between it giving him migraines and his sinuses, then he hasn’t been able to sleep the last 2 nights.  =(

It has been exhausting at work the last few days.  Then I come home and was totally busy with rude stuff last night.  Boy, working on rude has been a huge learning experience I will say that.

Well, I’m going to get some work done, just wanted you to know that I’m still around and haven’t falling off of the face of the earth.  =)

Happy Mother’s Day to all the women who are braver then me………..grin

Well, I finally got my root canal Friday.  Until I get it capped and a crown, I still need to eat with one of my mouth, but I can now have cold drinks and ice cream without waiting to die.  My jaw was just sore for a few days.

Otherwise I have been working….the normal.  Been riding my bike from work more, just trying to get some exercise in when I can.

The reason for all the Kate movies on TCM :  Legendary actress defined ‘classy’   Looks like there is another biography I need to get.  =)

I think Time mag was correct in listing Cate Blanchett is continuing in her tradition, you don’t have many of those classy actress anymore.

I really don’t much more to say.

Torn told me a few days ago that I need to take some time for myself on my few days off. So I’ve been stopping to read a little here and there. I’m trying to do a little before crashing at night, caught up on one of my mags around a 15 min nap this afternoon, and went to read about 9:30 this evening.

Well instead I got caught up in Katharine Hepburn’s autobiography documentary on TCM. I’ve always loved her independence and I love to read about her. As a feminist it is appealing, plus her mother fought for my right to vote and get birth control….which I love. She is just a very interesting personality and that doesn’t even include her films. I have a wish list of her films that I want to get : my all time favorite : The Lion in Winter (I would love to get the 2003 remake The Lion in Winter with Patrick Stewart & Glenn Close) ; Bringing Up Baby ; Adam’s Rib ; The Philadelphia Story; and of course, the classic Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner
I know that there are probably more that I would enjoy but those are the top ones.

I got my nails done today, I tried to take a bit easier………still got some work done and things kept coming up. I’ll have to refocus tomorrow. What I really wanted to do today was to be able to spend some quality time with Torn…..but why every time I think we are going to do that and stuff comes up. It is pretty discouraging. =( Oh well, at least we had Outback even if was carry out. =)

I think I may just get some reading done, for pleasure….getting ready for the new HP book……….grin
