Today was our 8th wedding anniversary.

We were going to go kayaking but the weather stopped that.

We did finally go and see the Revenge of the Sith. It was great! Afterwards my mine keep going over the story line from the Phantom Menace to the Return of the Jedi. ROTS really tied up all the loose ends. Even though you knew that he was going to became Vader you keep hoping that he wouldn’t.

Oh yeah, don’t let Torn’s post fool you…..he is a complete romantic when it comes to special dates….grin But that is just one of the many reasons why I love him. After 8 years of marriage (12 yrs together) we are still “in love” with each other. And I can’t picture my life without him.

It is Memorial Day here in the states. It is a day set aside to honor those who served our country.

The newspaper in our area had a very good editorial that helps to explain what it is about : On Memorial Day

So go out & thank a veteran and those still serving. I am thankful for my dad’s service & those of my family.

I have just been working a lot, but that is nothing new………..lol It just seemed as if I couldn’t find time to post. =)

As Torn had posted, we put down 1st month’s rent for the house. We will be moving by the end of the month. I’m feeling torn between being nervous about them not cleaning & fixing up the house as well as they should to looking forward to getting ourselves settled.

I’m not looking forward to the moving part at all. But I am looking forward to having 3 bedrooms, 2 car garage, a dinning room, fenced in back yard & pool. I’m anxious to get settled in & stocked up for hurricane season that begins Wed.

I’m also starting to worry about having enough time to pack, move & clean this place while working.

They hadn’t painted it very well when we looked at & I don’t think they plan on redoing it. But they did say that they would remburse us for the paint if we did it. We are going to see if it is ok for doing different colors. other then white.

If we sign a 2 yr lease I’ll feel comfortable enough to unpack my stuff for my china cabinet. I want to be able to be settled for a couple of years at least. Then we’ll see what we are doing.

I still want to move to the Pacific NorthWest. I really miss the moutains & I’m so not looking forward this summer heat that started up few weeks ago….too damn sticky.

Today went ok at work. Been stressing about whether we get approved for the house, getting the info together for it. Stessing the move & time (lack of) for packing & getting things done for work.

We now have to get prepared for the new 2257 regs! I swear this government is going to hell in a hand basket due to the bible thumbing right…grrr..

Torn is stressed out with what little time we have for everything & that hoops we have to jump though.

I just finished up some stuff for work & the PMs are hitting me, so I better get off to bed.

Just started the last esipode of LOST….dang, we’ve already jumped a couple of times.

We had found a house that we really had liked Monday & was approved until they found out that we had cats. One of the owners is allergic to dogs so he said no to cats, yet it was listed for pets. =( So they fixed the listing but now we are out of getting that one.

Torn took me to another house that he had looked at with the realtor yesterday. It has a lot of space & in ground pool w/a privacy fence. It is in an extremely nice area but it is the house in the neighborhood that no one wants to live by cuz the previous tenants ran it down. They property manager is currently in the process of fixing it up. It has a LOT of potential & we love the potential that it has. It is going to come down to, of course, them approving us & what they do to fix it up. We will see within the next few days.

Hopefully I’ll actually get some sleep tonight, didn’t get crap last night even though I was exhausted. I did end up with a 20min power nap today & helped me feel better. But I don’t have the option of sleeping in tomorrow………early morning for work, so I took a PM & will head to bed as soon as our show is over.

That is my life as of today. =)

It would be great if I could sleep……….grrr…Torn is passed out, but he needed it. He didn’t sleep worth a damn last night.

So I’ve been playing around with my blog. It is coming along, I’m figuring out how to put banners in where I want them. Even got one for Torn’s new site.

Torn even started his own LJ! ()I know he did it so he could keep up with our friends by linking them to his own page, instead of going to my friend’s page all the time.

It feels like sleep is finally about to hit me….so I’m going to try to get some sleep.

Torn started our search for a new place to live. I’m so not looking forward to this whole process….the looking, that scams on the application fees….it is crazy. At lest in Indiana you can start your looking months in advance, can’t do that here. Has to be 2-4 weeks before you need a place & that stresses us out big time. We like to have ourselves situtated ASAP so we know what is going on & how to prepare. Doesn’t help that we HATE moving.

We did look at a very nice duplex it has 3 bedrooms, screened in porch and kind of a courtyard area at the front door. It is really nice & roomy, even enough room to have my dinning room table up in the kitchen. But we shouldn’t even count on it until we get through the process. I just hope we find something soon so we don’t have to stress it.

On a political note: Cheney’s Betrayal
**I love the fact that ones who are suppose to protect the Constitution and the checks & balances put forth by our founding fathers are destroying the basic elements of our country. That is sad. =(

It is humid as heck. But we are so tired of the air condition we shut it off for the day & opened all the windows. But I don’t think it is going to last much longer…………..nope didn’t last. Too sticky & I never want to do anything when I’m sticky, even if it is just emails & writing.

I started my letters to my family members, it has been a long while. I’ve sent cards to let them know that I’ve been thinking of them, but no real letters. Looks like they will be about 15 pages long on average………lol I just need to finish them up.

I did get laundry & emails done, even made spaghetti for lunch. And we watched Garfield the movie……lol I know it got panned & the him dancing was bad, but I did enjoy it. I am silly that way………grin Then rewatched Shrek 2, my favorite part is when they are trying to get into the castle with Mongo the large gingerbread man…..I think it is the music. I’ve always loved that song since I heard when I was about 10. I need to get the sound track to that movie……..grin

Warning Vent Ahead:
Alright, this is something that drives me nuts. I hate when someone im’s me or pops up in chat room during a show and say “it’s my birthday” & expect something extra just for them……I know it is just a line & I really HATE it when they try to make me feel obligate or something. You want something, get a private show and PAY for it. I don’t know you from Adam & I’m sure in hell not going to give you a “gift”. That is for the people I know & care about.

On the same note, I hate it when guys use the line that they are soldiers/serviceman & expect something. I bet you 99% of those are guys are NOT servicemen & they are a disgrace to the ones that are. Being around the military you learn that true servicemen NEVER make a big deal out of it, it is a duty & an honor to serve, it is a part of their life. And if you know someone who goes on about being in the Special Forces……..ding, ding….not! People in the Special Forces are taught silence, they may answer a few general questions, but they will not volunteer anything real specific about what they did. Most will not speak much about it unless around other military personnel.

My father has been out for about 15yrs & still will not speak of many things, some things are still classified. Hell, as a child I did not truly know what my father did, it wasn’t until he was about to retire that I fully understood……..cuz they do not talk about it.

It is one thing to let people know what you do, whether you are a serviceman or not, in the process of getting to know someone……BUT do not expect what you do to get special treatment.

I have a lot of respect for those who serve & I give my thanks for what they do. I also hate it when the government cuts VA funding & do not give our military personnel a living wage. So do not mistake my rant for something it is not.

Now that it is cooling down, I think I’m going to enter a few receipts & balance my check book.

I have the weekend off. So when I got off from work yesterday I went to get my nails done. They were about 6 days over do………..and it was showing. Last time I got them done, I did one of my purples. When I got home, Torn was like “you always get purples, blues & reds”……then I’m like “what would like……..green?” I never thought he would ever like that, so I never gave it much thought. It took me time, but I did find a green……neon green & a neon yellow……….I really wanted a kelly green, but neon will do………….grin

So now I have both neon yellow & green on my nails……….lol Wild…

I was hoping to get some packing done today……….didn’t happen. We’ve been looking for others couples to swing without……….nothing to do with the site, just swing. We meet with one ouple today for lunch. They were really nice. We seemed to hit it off. I hope we are able to find time for a get together.

It has been so long that we meet folks for just swinging and not site stuff that it was kind of weird. You have to really try to read folks. For “biz” you just talk very “biz-like”……you just start when the cameras are ready. But it was really nice to “go back” to where we started…….just plain simple swinging.

We did watch the Preakness………….did you see that AFleet Alec almost went done?!? My heart jumped! Luckily, he regained his footing & no one was hurt, in fact he went on and won the race. =)

We do have a show on CamZ@10 am Est this Sunday. So I hope to see some of you there……..grin

I then hope that I actually get some packing & letter writing done.
