Washington Redskins vs. The President…..

THE PACKERS BEAT THE SKINS TODAY!!!

GREEN BAY, Wis., Oct. 31 /U.S. Newswire/ — Wisconsin supporters of John Kerry and John Edwards had an extra reason to cheer the Packers victory over the Redskins today: over the past 17 presidential elections, the outcome of the Redskins’ final home game has determined the outcome of the election. According to history, if the Redskins win, the incumbent president remains in office. If they lose, the challenger wins.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled with the Packers win today,” Kerry said. “This streak started with Herbert Hoover, and will continue this week when George Bush, the only president since Hoover to lose jobs, loses his. When the Redskins get beat before the election, the incumbent loses. The Packers have done their part, this Tuesday, we’ll do ours.”

Important historical note: The historical precedent began in 1932 when the now-Washington Redskins were known as the Boston Braves. The Sunday before the election, the Braves did not win and Herbert Hoover, the last American president (before George Bush), to lose jobs over the course of his administration was defeated by FDR.

The Kerry-Edwards ticket heads into the final stretch of the campaign riding a wave of momentum. On Thursday, Kerry was joined by Bruce Springsteen and over 80,000 other supporters in Madison for the largest political rally in state history. Recent polling shows Kerry in a strong position as Election Day approaches, with the latest Zogby Wisconsin daily tracking poll giving Kerry an eight-point lead over Bush. One week ago, Kerry trailed in the Zogby tracking poll by three points.

Silly Stuff

31 October, 2004

Do this amazing mathematics exercise. It will take only 20 seconds.

What you have to do is to follow the instructions. Do not read the outcome before having made all the calculations, OK?Les start!
1. Decide the number of times you wish to make love during one week.
2. Multiply this number by 50.
3. Add to the result 44.
4. Then, multiply by 200.
5. If, this year, you have already celebrated your birthday, add 104. If you have not celebrated
it yet add 103.
6. Last step: to the result you have obtained, subtract your birth year (for example, subtract 1968, 1973, etc.).

Once you have made the subtraction, you should have a number with five figures.
So:The first of the five figures points out the number of nights per week you wish to make love.
Is it correct?
But it is not all.The last two figures correspond to your age.
But the best has still to came……The second and the third figure point out THE POSITION YOU LIKE THE MOST WHILE YOU ARE MAKING LOVE!!

History Lesson

Have a history teacher explain this—– if they can.

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln’s secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy’s Secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named ‘Ford.’
Kennedy was shot in a car called ‘Lincoln’ made by ‘Ford.’

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in

a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid

in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here’s the kicker…

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was IN Marilyn Monroe.

Creepy huh?

The Low Down

30 October, 2004

Friday I got a really cool letter from a cousin. She is my great-aunts grandchild, so I believe that is my 2nd cousin. She was visiting her grandma when she showed her what I had sent on their part of the family tree. She made a copy of it & sent back with the corrections & a great little note. I was tickled pink..grin.

So I corrected everything & hope I didnt mess it up. = )

Right now Im scanning documents & have put a few up in the trees. Ive been calling around to see about a service to scan all my pictures and put them on cd. I have so many pictures & the scanner takes forever. Torn suggested putting more then one picture on, scan as one picture & then crop around the individual pictures. I was playing around with that idea, but thought it would mess up the quality. He doesnt think it will. So Im going to try that. I would really prefer to do them at home then pay for any service. So I was happy that he suggested it. = )

Im thinking of sending out the trees with what addresses I have & then send the rest once I get them from mom. Well see. If I do that, Ill probably be sending it all out in the next few weeks. I do know that I need to get some family paperwork copied for both sides of the family.

I finally found some postcards the other day for the kids & my sister. I never thought it would be so hard. I found some at the very last checkout in wally world..lol So I sent them postcards today.

Working again on the form letter, I almost forget that I want the Military histories & any stories that anyone may have.

Purdue lost to a team they shouldnt have lost to & lets leave it to that. = (

Looks like Fannie May is back.grin.according to the press release: http://www.fanniemay.com/press/2004-10-19.asp They started opening them on the 19th of Oct and will continue one through November. As a huge chocolate lover that was crushed to see them go, Im so happy to see that.

Here is an article I found online at the Chicago Tribune about the return of Fannie May:
Welcome back, Fannie May

Published October 26, 2004

After what seemed an eternity to many chocolate lovers, the joyous news came last week that Fannie May stores had begun reopening in the Chicago area. The Chicago chocolate icon, you may recall, had closed its stores earlier this year, leaving connoisseurs to madly stockpile their favorites and to glumly contemplate life without Fannie May.

It has been a long year.

At the time, there were vague promises of an FM return, but such promises can be as ethereal as a Mint Meltaway.

So it was with giddy anticipation–and, of course, a bit of skepticism–that we greeted the word that the first new Fannie May was opening in Oak Lawn, to be followed by a steady march of stores across Chicago in the month to come.

The timing couldn’t be better. With Halloween approaching, the mind is focused on candy. Heck, for us, the mind is always focused on candy.

Many Chicagoans who spent hundreds of dollars to stockpile Fannie May likely found their stockpiles had dwindled to nothing. And what was left tended to be stale, if not inedible.

The new owner of Fannie May, Alpine Confections Inc., of Alpine, Utah, took great pains to reassure Fannie fanatics last week that the firm had reproduced the FM experience as best it could, using the same recipes, even the same chocolate, from Chicago’s Blommer Chocolate Co. and the same $500-per-gallon vanilla extract.

That was reassuring. Candy lovers, however, fretted that something ineffable would be lost. Most of the candy, for one thing, isn’t made here, but in Ohio. And honestly, could a Utah-based candy conglomerate really duplicate the rich and delicate FM taste?

“This is the same flavor that everybody grew up with,” declared Alan Petrik, a 30-year FM veteran, who was hired to run the resurrected Fannie May. Each Fannie fan now may determine the veracity of that claim through personal experience. The truth must be in the tasting. And there’s apparently plenty of that happening. Business is said to
be exceedingly brisk at the new stores. It’s also comforting that the new stores are much like the ones we remember, down to the red-and-white logo on the bag.

But what about the taste? Over the weekend, this page commissioned a purely unscientific survey of two. We can report that at least for the wonderfully nuanced foil-wrapped milk chocolate, the new Fannie clearly measures up to cherished memories.

Welcome back, Fannie May. We missed you.

**We all have & I have signed up for a catalog……..I’m really missing my milk chocolate vanilla buttercreams. No one makes them like Fannie May.

Peace
Toni

A Real Update

29 October, 2004

Evening,

I spent Sunday & Monday on PrivateCamZ. I got a few good shows. Really didnt do much else those days. Pretty much why I havent updated much.

I havent said anything about it before, but Im looking for a job. I need a job for my sanity. Staying home and doing shows is taking out my enjoyment out of it. I need a life out of the house. This has been my first time Ive been without a job since I was 14. It was nice the first few months, but then there was so much going on with our kitty passing, my grandmother, packing & then moving. I was busy and occupied. Now, Im just losing it. So Ive really been busy with applying to jobs & interviews.

I even have had one job offer, but something just didnt sit right with me. I felt really bad, cuz the folks that interviewed me were really nice.

So Tuesday I went for a 2nd interview for a job I really would like. I wont know for about a week. Im really hoping that I get it. It was the 2nd step in the process, which included one of those character/personality test/surveys. I hate those. The way they word the questions are just screwy. Like most people experiment with drugs..wtf?!? If you answer yes, that is saying that youre tried it, if you answer no then you are naivety, gullible and not too bright, since a lot of folks do. Either way, I think I did pretty good. Well see.

After that I went on to a job fair that a new store was holding. They are looking for folks to set up a new store that is going to open. It is temporary, but has the possibilities of being permanent. What I like about it, is regardless at least for 10 days I have something to do & can get out of the house. I can also see if it is some place I want to work, while they are seeing if Im someone they want to keep on. They do have a few management positions open and know that is what Im looking for. So this is good, I can get my foot in the door if I like it & I dont get the other job.

So wish me luck. =)

That night we went out for dinner & drinks with our friends & then headed back here. We had a really fun time. What was messed up is that we were up until around 3:30am & I still couldnt fall asleep until 5am. Then I didnt sleep much then. =(

Wednesday we went out again with them & went to see the Lunar Eclipse, it was so cool to see.

Now Tuesday and Wednesday we were out late, but yet I still couldnt sleep worth a dang. So last night we took some PMs so we could sleep & to try and get back on a sleeping regular schedule. We went to bed early & dang it, we sleep in late. We just couldnt get moving. =(

I did get my ride in and did get a few things done around the house. So it wasnt a total waste, thankfully.

Tomorrow we have our Purdue game to watch (fingers crossed) & a win to enjoy.

Due to the elections Tuesday & us wanting to watch the results, I wont be having my Tuesday evening show on CamZ. It has been rescheduled for this Sunday at 11am est. I hope to see you all there.grin

Need to get this posted. =)

Peace

28 October, 2004

I know I haven’t updated in the last few days. My brain has been kind of fried in general. But I did want to note that today is the day that Torn & I had our first “date”. I say that with quotes, cuz at the time neither of us could afford to good out & we just spent hours talking and getting to know each other. =)

But that was 11 years ago today.

A Bad Football Saturday

23 October, 2004

Well..today sucked! Purdue lost. =( They fumbled when we had a chance, used up too many of our time outs and just choked in general.Im depressed. We always seem to screw up the big games when things are going good. We always have issues with Michigan even on their bad years.

I did get my letter writing done. So I feel good about that. =) I had a lot of writing to do, so that took time around me stressing the game.

I did get the list of candidates and issues that will be on our ballot. Ive gotten through nearly all of it. There are just two amendments I need to decide on. The only other problem there was is I dont know which district we fall in. So I just listed them all (only a few) and picked out who we were voting from it, so I have all our bases covered.

I have a few other minor things to get done and then Im heading to bed. =)

Peace
Toni

Projects

22 October, 2004

Alright! Ive been busy as heck the last 2 days working on some projects.

I have the family trees cleaned up, organized & printed up in family sections. I started to make a list of which side of the family gets what sections. Cuz you know they don’t want all of it if it doesnt apply to them………grin Now once I get all the addresses from mom all I need to do is make copies of the sections to mail out. I already picked up some envelopes; I just hope I have enough. =)

Yesterday, I got all the pics done that mom sent me on the cd. It was really cool to be able to see some more recent ones of the kids. Today I went through another set pics that I got from mom a few months ago. They were kind of disorganized, so took all day today. =) The only problem was that seeing them made me miss them.

Now the other major project I need to do for the site is to start scanning some of the old pics. That is going to take a bit of time that is for sure. =)

I still need to go through the local ballot & figure out who we are voting for. They are doing early voting here in Florida & I would like for us to go & get our votes in. I’m afraid it will be crowded come Nov. 2nd.

I still need to get to my letter writing tomorrow..icks..Im going to work on that while watching football.

I did a get a good ride in today. I hit a strong breeze today since I went a different direction. It is amazing how a little breeze can pump up the resistance.

I finally broke down and got my nails done yesterday. I love it when they are done; I just hate spending that much time getting them done. But they are ready for tomorrows game. =)

I think Im going to catch up on the news & maybe start on my letters tonight, if my head can handle it.

Peace

Stopping In

20 October, 2004

Just a real quick stop in. =) I got a good bike ride in today & then attacked my truck on vacuuming. It had so much sand in it from our day at the beach.

I’ve been working hard on resizing and organizing the cd of pics from mom. Now I’m doing the hard part of waiting for it to all upload to the server. I have reorangize the set up of pages for my family & have gotten the personal information posted behind password protection. It is has been a time consuming job, but I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel….grin Once the FTPing is done, I’ll be defragging my pc tonight since I abused it today. =)

I’ve touched up the letter to the family asking for info. Now I need to reorganize how I have the family trees set up so I can send only the sections that apply to that branch of the family when I send them out. I’m really hoping to be able to get it done in the next few days. Mom is working on address labels for her Xmas cards. I’m hoping to be able to get a copy of hers so I can see what family members I’m missing.

So I think tomorrow the family tree is the project once I get some book keeping done. Then I have about 5 letters to write.

Chat with you later. =)

Funny Fwd.

*** I’ve seen this around and one of my fans forwarded it to me. I thought it would be great to share.

Some of Rodney’s Best One Liners…”I GET NO RESPECT I’LL TELL YA…” May He Rest In Peace !!

1. I was so poor growing up … if I wasn’t a boy…I’d have had nothing to play with.

2.. A girl phoned me the other day and said, “Come on over; nobody’s home.” I went over. Nobody was home.

3. During sex, my girlfriend always wants to talk to me. Just the other night she called me from a hotel.

4. One day I came home early from work … I saw a guy jogging naked. I said to the guy, “Hey buddy, why are you doing that?” He said “Because you came home early.”

5. It’s been a rough day. I got up this morning …put a shirt on and a button fell off. I picked up my briefcase, and the handle came off. I’m afraid to go to the bathroom.

6. I was such an ugly kid…When I played in the sandbox, the cat kept covering me up.

7. I could tell my parents hated me. My bath toys were a toaster and radio.

8. I was such an ugly baby…My mother never breast fed me. She told me that she only liked me as a friend.

9. I’m so ugly…My father carried around a picture of the kid who came with his wallet.

10. When I was born, the doctor came into the waiting room and said to my father, “I’m sorry. We did everything we could, but he pulled through.”

11. I’m so ugly…My mother had morning sickness…AFTER I was born.

12. I remember the time that I was kidnapped and they sent a piece of my finger to my father. He said he wanted more proof.

13. Once when I was lost, I saw a policeman, and asked him to help me find my parents. I said to him, “Do you think we’ll ever find them?” He said,”I don’t know kid. There’s so many places they can hide.”

14. My wife made me join a bridge club. I jump off next Tuesday.

15. I’m so ugly…I worked in a pet shop, and people kept asking how big I’d get.

16. I went to see my doctor. “Doctor, every morning when I get up and I look in the mirror…I feel like throwing up; What’s wrong with me?” He said…”I don’t know but your eyesight is perfect.”

17. I went to the doctor because I’d swallowed a bottle of sleeping pills. My doctor told me to have a few drinks and get some rest.

18. With my old man I got no respect. I asked him, “How can I get my kite in the air?” He told me to run off a cliff.

19. Some dog I got. We call him Egypt because in every room he leaves a pyramid. His favorite bone is in my arm. Last night he went on the paper four times - three of those times I was reading it.

20. One year they wanted to make me poster boy for birth control.

21. My uncle’s dying wish was to have me sitting in his lap; he was in the electric chair.

And my Fav: I’m so ugly, when I was born the doctor slapped my mother! .
